Cebu is the gateway and economic hub of the Central and Southern Philippines. The Mactan Cebu International Airport on Mactan Island facilitates comfortable, easy movement for travelers and the number of weekly international flights to and from Mactan is constantly increasing.

Four airlines service numerous daily flights between Cebu and most Philippine cities. There are regular direct international flights to Japan, Hongkong, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Korea. Air freight to and from Cebu is reliable and efficient with major international couriers like DHL, FedEx, TNT and Aboitiz International.

  

Eighty percent of the country's shipping lines are based in Cebu as shown by the presence of 44 local shipping lines. Also, 13 international carriers/shipping lines have offices in Cebu. Nearly 8 km. of shipping berths line Cebu's deep water port area, now the largest outside Manila. Efficient container handling, trucking and storage is available.

Modern communication links utilize satellites, cellular telephone networks and routine land-based telephone services. High quality broadband links and IDD services are available and compatible with systems worldwide. Direct links are maintained over 116 countries. Cebu has a very high density of computer installations, and full access to the Internet.

Radio and television broadcast services are popular advertising mediums. Cable television is installed over a wide area. The government postal service is supplemented by established courier companies. Most international and local courier companies have offices in Cebu.
